Our multinational client is recruiting a Project Manager, with Crane Installation or Heavy Lifting equipment experience.

Job purpose:
To provide robust technical, customer-focussed project management to assigned projects covering all product families. Responsible for co-ordinating on scope, planning, scheduling, production and installation.
Reports directly to Project/Production/QAQC Leader

Manages a small team of 1/2 employees
Close working relationships with project team and wider site team
Regular liaison externally with customers and vendors
Is responsible for successful execution of projects in all aspects

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Manage the production processes, selection of vendors, release of approval drawings to customers, collaborate with the wider team to meet the project deliverables and communicate the entire process to the frontline project team on a defined regular basis.

Job Description

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES continued

Ensure assigned orders meet guidelines to validate and acknowledge the customer scope (internal & external customers)
  • Develop schedule timelines that are shared with the customer and used internally to manage resources
  • Release purchasing request to ensure timely delivery. This includes all components and commissioning requirements.
  • Maintain system and continuously monitor cost versus estimate on each assigned project to manage overall budget and delivery forecast.
  • Maintain positive relationships with frontline project team by having knowledge of the project site requirements so the final deliverables meet our customer satisfaction requirements.
  • Verify and communicate project payment milestones to frontline project team to ensure any initial advance working capital is in place and arrangements for final payment are agreed and followed up on.
  • Visit manufacturing resources in-house and outside sub-contractors to ensure product delivery and quality including Factory Acceptance Testing requirements
  • Adherence to all legal requirements, to the Company Quality and Environmental Management Systems (QMS/EMS), the H & S policy, local regulations and procedures
  • Other ad-hoc duties commensurate with the grade of the role

  • Daily interaction with all departments, specifically with Project Team
  • Work cohesively with other internal departments and/or third party personnel as required to resolve issues and/or complete projects safely and competently
​​​​​​​KNOWLEDGE, SKILL-SET & COMPETENCIES
Technical/Professional Experience:
  • Demonstrable experience of having worked in a similar previous role involving mechanical engineering / overhead cranes
  • Demonstrable technical and project management know-how
​​​​​​​Knowledge/Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Preferably a Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical/electrical engineering
  • Proven 5 yrs experience required in overhead crane installation work and/or mechanical/electrical engineering – a qualified person will be able to process and provide technical instructions, technical drawings and print
  • Previous experience of a CAD program preferred
  • I.S. competencies in M/S Office suite
  • Good grasp of English language (both verbal & written)
  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change
  • Good general fitness as role is hands-on and ability to access overhead cranes is a must
  • Willingness to work additional and sometimes unsociable hours
